Mother Albertha Wymes Baker was born March 21, 1943 in Columbia Alabama to the late Mr. Sam Wymes and Mrs. Emma Lee Wymes. She departed this Earthly life and entered into her heavenly home on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Mother Albertha Baker was United in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Fate Baker Jr., and to this union 8 children were born, including 5 daughters and 3 sons. At an early age her prayer was that God would bless her with a gospel singing group, in which he did after birthing her children calling themselves "Glory Train Speciallet," being named by Mother Baker and her best friend. As the years passed by, Mother Baker continued her singing with her family changing the name several times, as additional family members were born. Some of the Gospel group names were "The Christianettes," and then "The Sensational Baker Family," consisting of her children and grandchildren. Mother Baker loved singing with her family and not only did God bless her with singers, but musicians as well.
Mother Baker was a lady of wisdom and she cared deeply for all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even her great great grandchildren. She raised them all up in the church. She was a member of "To God Be The Glory Outreach Ministry" where her niece Doris Williams is the pastor.
Mother Baker was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; grandson, Joseph Alexander Carroll; granddaughter, Sharika Myers; two brothers, Curtis Wymes and Leon Wymes.
