Obituary

Mr. Bernard Russ was born to the late Mr. Leroy Russ and Mrs. Freddie Mae Russ on November 20, 1954 in Dothan, AL. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

Mr. Russ was united in Holy Matrimony to Yvonne Russ. To this union two children were born.

Bernard Russ Sr. was known for his love of travel, barbecuing, and football. He was a diligent worker and a man who struggled through this life but by God's Grace saw Jesus as his treasure. People that knew him learned to see beyond imperfection. That is a life lesson that few acquired. His life was a lesson in humility, strength made perfect in weakness and most importantly forgiveness. if he were here now he would say "Be kind to one another" and "never take life for granted".

He was preceded in death by his twin brother Leonard Russ.

He leaves behind two sons: Bernard Russ and Eric Russ; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers: David Earl and Billy Ray Russ; one sister, Cassandra Russ-Mello; one sister-in-law, Earnestine Russ, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
