Betty Floyd was born on April 11, 1939 to the late John Lee Hammock and Ruby Pitts in Headland, Alabama. Betty entered Heaven's Gate on Monday, April 13, 2026.
At an early age Betty accepted Christ and was a lifelong member at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Golden Saints and Silver Sneakers class.
Betty is preceded in death by both parents and one son, Percell Floyd. Also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary McHellon, Grady Hammock, John Lee Hammock and Obi Thomas.
Betty was educated in the Henry County School System. She was employed by Warner's Sewing Factory for many years then retiring after 20+ years from Globe Motors. After retirement she worked at Rainbow Christian Learning Center.
Betty was always known as a loving supportive mother, grandmother and friend. She had many friends and always had kind words to say. Betty was extremely compassionate nurturing grandmother supporting all of her grandchildren. She was known by many as a woman of integrity and always had a positive outlook on life. She always had encouraging words and always put family first. Betty took pleasure in cooking for family gatherings and showing generosity at Christmas.
Cherishing her loving memories are her four sons, James Floyd Jr. (Michelle), Kenneth Floyd (Yolanda), Gregory and Gerald Floyd; two daughters, Cynthia Floyd Anderson (Steve) and Cyrenthia Floyd Ealey (Willie Jr.); eleven grandkids, LaShika, Jamaal, Ebony, Tameka, Rasheed, Maurice, Christal, Kenneth Jr. Rico, Cornelius, and Jeremy; eighteen great grandkids, Jaden, Anthony, Paris, Tamea, Tamya, Kaiden, Skylar, Keyzaria, Kamai, Jahi, Masai, Taveana, Ke'Yona, Kaleb, Kamoni, Willese Jackson Jr; a very special niece whom she raised like a daughter, Michelle Floyd Bell; five great great grandson, Dakota, Sage, Amir, Amora, Asaiah; a host of relatives and friends; a special thanks to Ruby Reaves and Annie Murray for caring for our mom.
