Celebrating Life & Legacy
Today we gather to celebrate the emarkable life and lasting legacy of Danny James Sr - a man whose presence brought strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom to everyone around him. His life was a testament of God, family, hard work, love dedication, resilience and unwavering love for his family and friends. The Dallas Cowbouys for sure was on that list. Danny was a Dallas Cowboys Fan to the core.
Danny was a devoted husband, a caring father, a proud grandfather, great grandfather, one of the most loyal men and true true friend. He believed in hard work, honesty, and standing firm on his values. Danny devoted his life to hard work and dedication.
He was a graduate of NHS class of 1979, followed by enlisting in the United States Army, then he later received his CDL license where he drove for Coleman America all over the United States of America. Danny later started working at Dothan City Schools where he retired after 25 years in 2021. Within the wall of each business, he was known for the smile he always carried, the wise words given, the scriptures he held close and the strong friendships he built with coworkers. The Dallas Cowboys, The Dallas Cowboys! Danny loved his Dallas Cowboys and was a loyal fan!!!!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daisy Campbell and Rufus James; sisters, Annette Morton and SHirley Lawrence; brothers Mr. Jessie (Cat) Thomas, Lafayette Magwood, William James (WJ) Thomas; grandson, Cortez Grayson
He leaves to cherish his wondering loving memories to his devoted wife of 39 years, Mae Liza James; children, Danny (Brandy) James Jr., Kevin (Linda) Whatley, Jeffery (Lisa) Whatley, Tammie Clayton (O'Sean) Davis; sister in law, Mattie Pearl Wilbon; brother in law, Raven (Linda) Whatley; bonus brother, Bruce Bryant; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
