Geraldine Dokes

Geraldine was born January 15, 1945 to the late Jay Smith and Ester B. Lattimore.

Geraldine departed her life Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at her home in Dothan, Alabama. She in preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Nathaniel Thornton; one sister, Annie Lee Thornton McCray

Geraldine graduated from Barbour County High School. She worked for the postal service for a short period of time and then became a Semi Truck driver for 50+ years. Geraldine stopped trucking at the age of 80 years old and her truck handlers name was "Day Dreamer."

She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Nathaniel Lattimore; one brother, John L. (Rosie) Thornton; two sisters, Barbara Johnson of Mobile Alabama and Roselyn (Hilton) Helms of Louisville, Alabama; her loving nieces Zandra Danzy and Tiesha Thornton; a host of other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
