Gertrude Hubbard

Obituary

Gertrude Hubbard was born February 15, 1942 to the late Washington and Leonte Hubbard. Gertrude accepted our Lord and Savior at an early age.

When there was nothing God was. God created all that is. He had her in his plan at the beginning and one thousand and forty two years after His only son death and resurrection she was created. Our mother was over 3 of God's creation and many many more to till and turn over to know him and love him with all our being. Our mother read the writing of God day and night and the bible was always next to her. She loved him more than life itself. Gertrude always said yall might can hide from me, but yall can never hide from God.

Her home was open to all that needed food, shelter, or guidance. She was and is a wonderful soul. I can go on but I want her works to speak for itself and whoever knew or known her let them speak. Gertrude will live forever because God said so in John 3:16. This is a vacation of rest she has long for. Her favorite scripture is Matthew 22:36-40 and she will say read it for yourself. We thank God for loaning her to us. We love you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we give her back to you.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Evelyn Levelle, Patricia Abernathy, Wallace Hubbard and Bryant Wesley Grice.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Hope Grice, Octavia (AL) Mayo, and Avis Balcom; grandchildren: Quinton Parrish, Gregory Parrish, Kasha Grice, Zaraka (Edward) Teague, Joseph Mills, Alaysha (Edtron) Griffin, Christopher Dantzler, Jaydan Wesley Balcom, Brandi Davis, Brandon Grice, and Sha'Kayla McKinley; great grandchildren: Tori Tharpe, Diavian Grice, LaTravia Grice, Kaeson Thomas, Leandra Jackson, Ta'Niyah Griffin, Ty'Anna Balcom, Ja'Kayla Balcom, Bryan Martin, Chasity Teague, and Vyshaun; siblings: Phyllis Hubbard, LaConyea Veasley, Ximena Woodruff, Randolph Hubbard, James Hubbard, Charles Hubbard, and Thomas Hubbard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
