Howard Lee McLeod was born on October 18, 1957 in Quincy Florida to the late James McLeod and Annie Laura Barrow McLeod. He graduated from Ashford High School with the class of 1978 and begin employment at an early age doing yard work or whatever was needed. He later worked with the City of Dothan.

He never had any children of his own so he made his nieces, great nieces and nephews his own. After a brief illness he was known by many as “nice guy who rode his bike to the local grocery store and/or the one who always waved at the passerby's while sitting on the porch.” Howard was no stranger to anyone and showed love to everyone he met.

He is proceeded in death in death by his father, James McLeod; mother, Annie Laura McLeod; sisters, “Baby” Yvonne McLeod, Cathy Mae McLeod, Maura Mae McLeod Smith, Janice Marie McLeod Maybin; brothers, Willie James McLeod and Milton Lee McLeod; nephew, Christopher McLeod.

Howard is survived by his sisters, Annie “Ann” McLeod Thompson and Glenda Sue McLad Melton (Willie Melton); brothers, Charli C. McLeod, Orlando, FL, Walter Ray McLeod (Louvenia McLeod), Dothan, AL, Calvin Junior McLeod, Enterprise, AL and Willie Clarence McLeod, Cleveland, OH; he always had a fondness to his nephew Orlando Maybin, niece Latoya Maybin, her daughters La’Naysaisha Lee; her daughters Lai’Lani Lee, Na’Lani Lee, Aa’Lani Lee and son Timothy Jaquan Dawsey: LaNundreeya Lee and her daughter Pasleigh Dozeir; a host of other nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

The McLeod family would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone that has shown love, kindness and support in our time of need. Many blessings to each and everyone of you. None of your acts of kindness is gone unnoticed. A special thanks to his life long neighbors Mr. Harvey & Mrs. Sarah Knight.
