James Lewis May

Mr. James Lewis May was born on August 11, 1957 to the late John C. May and Bessie Lee Reese May.

James L. May accepted Christ at an early age at Sardis Baptist Church in Bay Springs, Alabama. James left this Earthly place to be with our Heavenly Father on July 5, 2025 due to a short illness.

James May is preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara Jean Tiller May; parents, John C. May and Bessie Lee Reese May; his maternal grandparents, T. C. and Chanie MAe Reese; sister, Lola May; brother, Johnny May and his daughter in law Tanjanika Tiller; uncles Billy Reese Jr, William Reese Sr., L. C. Reese and father in law, Less Tiller Jr.

James leaves his legacy and memories to his family to carry on, his companion, Mary Kelly May; children, Tekella (Clifton) Thornton, Demetrice Tiller and Leslie Tiller; stepdaughters, Tamara Shealey and Latiisha Williams; grandchildren, Nyeshia Powell, Clifton Thornton Jr., Faith Thornton, Nevaeh Thornton, Barbriona Thornton, Sa'Ni Thornton, Ace Tiller, Kasthon Tiller and Landry Tiller, Dystinany Tucker, Lyshun Knight; great-grandson, Ny'Cere Powell; mother in law, Earline Tiller; step grandchildren, Joshua Kincey, Josiah Williams, Jailyn Hudson, Jakailyn Hudson and Daniel Shealey Jr.; sisters, Mary (Robert) Thomas, May Bean, Tonia May, Cindy (Felton) May, Goria (Jerry) Harris; his aunt, Bernice Reese; uncles, Dan Reese and Ernest Reese and a host of other relatives and friends.
