WHEN I’M RESTING IN MY GRAVE,

THERE’S NOTHING MORE TO BE SAID;

MAY THE WORKS I’VE DONE SPEAK FOR ME

JAMES EARL REEVES WAS BORN ON JANUARY 04, 1956 IN HENRY COUNTY TO THE LATE MAJOR REEVES AND ROSIE MAE SPANN REEVES.  JAMES EARL REEVES AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS “STUD” GRADUATED FROM HEADLAND HIGH SCHOOL IN 1977.

HE SPENT HIS ENTIRE LIFE IN HEADLAND, AL. “STUD” WAS WELL KNOWN AND LOVED BY THE COMMUNITY. HE ACCEPTED CHRIST AS HIS PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR AT A VERY YOUNG AGE AND LATER IN LIFE HE REDEDICATED HIS LIFE OVER TO GOD AND SERVED AS FAITHFUL MEMBER AT ST. PETER AME CHURCH.  MOST OF THE TIME YOU WOULD FIND HIM SINGING IN THE MALE CHORUS AND HELPING WHERE HE WAS NEEDED.

“STUD” WAS A TRUE FRIEND TO MANY AND HE NEVER MEET A STANGER. HE WAS NO STRANGER TO WORK. HE DEVOTED MANY YEARS TO CITY OF HEADLAND AND AMERICAN BRASS. IN LATER YEARS, HE WORKED FOR THE COMMUNITY AS A HANDYMAN AND HE ENJOYED IT UNTIL HIS DEPARTURE FROM EARTH.

“STUD” FOUND JOY IN SMALL THINGS SUCH AS: SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY, SITTING ON HIS FRONT PORCH BUT MOST IMPORTANT EATING A GOOD HOME COOKED MEAL.

JAMES WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, ONE BROTHER (JEROME REEVES) TWO SISTERS (IDA MAE JOHNSON AND LINDA CARROLL THORNTON “POOH NANNY”).

HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORIES TO HIS LOVING AND DEVOTED DAUGHTER WHO CHERISH THE MOST SKEKELIA HILL-DOTHAN, AL ; ONE SON-IN-LAW TO BE: TIMOTHY MOORE,  ONE STEP-DAUGHTER: LATASHA WILLIAMS- DOTHAN,AL ; THREE GRAND CHILDREN: KAMARI KNIGHT, KAMARION HILL AND KASON WILBON-DOTHAN, AL. FIVE BROTHERS: WAYNE (GERALDINE) REEVES OF TAMPA,FL, AUTHOR (ARLISHA) REEVES OF NEWARK, NJ, BOBBY JOE (OLA MAE) REEVES OF HEADLAND, AL, WILLIE FRED (PEARLINE) REEVES OF DOTHAN,AL AND LOYCE REEVES OF HEADLAND,AL. THREE SISTERS: MARY ANN THORNTON, LOUISE JOHNSON AND LINDA (MARVIN) GALLOWAY ALL FROM HEADLAND, AL. THREE SPECIAL COUSINS: JAMES EARL WILLIAMS,FRED DAVIS AND NAPOLEON BRADLEY;  A HOST OF NIECES, NEWPHEWS , COUSINS AND FRIENDS.  SPECIAL FRIENDS: WILLIE POWELL AND CARZELL FAULK
