Jimmie Baxter Sr.

Brother Jimmie Baxter a highly devoted an of God has gone home to be with the Lord.

Brother Baxter was born February 9, 1928 and departed this life into the presence of the Lord on January 7, 2026.

Brother Baxter was a man who loved God with all of his heart and loved his neighbors as himself. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age, after graduating from high school Brother Baxter entered college. After finishing college he served in the United States Army and served in multiple other countries. When Brother Baxter left the Army, he worked for Georgia Pacific and retired there after injury.

Brother Baxter was a man who loved being a part of the household of faith, in his early years he served at at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, afterward he began to serve at New Testament Holiness Church and Church of Dothan until death. He kept a great love and prayers for the people at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Brother Baxter is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Eloise Baxter, his wife of 66 years before her death in 2020, Sister Edell Baxter, a daughter Edith Baxter, brothers and sisters.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his children, Shirley Culver, Jimmy Baxter Jr., Gerald (Norva) Baxter, Debra (Lee) Potts, Jeffery Baxter, Willie Baxter, Cynthia Baxter, Elaine Lewis, Lena Baxter, Liz (Walter) Rich, Katrina-Sis. Ky (Troy) Guillory; one brother, LC Black; one sister, Velma Jean Bailey; 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
