John L Mathis

John L. Mathis was born February 11, 1955 in Dothan ALabama to the late Mr. Billy Jackson and Mrs. Gertha Lee Mathis.
John L Mathis lived in St. Petersburg Florida for many years. He was a butcher for over 30 years and was known for playing dominoes with his beloved family and friends. John proudest achievement was when he became a father and a provider for his family in whom he loved and adored.

Although he is no longer here n Earth, John L. Mathis love, generosity and life lessons are continuing to impact his family and friends. 

John is preceded in death by both parents, Mr. Billy Jackson and Mrs. Gertha Lee Mathis, his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Kirkland, two brothers, Keith Mathis and Ulysses "Man" Mathis and one nephew, Ju'Marion Walker

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a very loving aunt, Lilly Wilson, his children, Justin Kirkland and Christopher Kirkland; six siblings, Alveta (Kernice) Mathis, Lamar (Sharon) Mathis, Tony (Chere) Potter, Stephanie (Reginald) Round tree, Sara Mathis and Joanne (Joe) Finn; a brother in law, Mr. Willie B. Ingram; his grandchildren, Jadyn Kirkland and Emajyn Kirkland and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
