Mrs. Martha “Tarzan(Mott)” Louise Shackleford Walker was born on August 30, 1950 to the late Mrs. Ira Mae Shackleford and Buster Salias in Dothan, Alabama.
She attended and graduated from Dothan High School, class of 1970. She also graduated Culinary Arts school in the early 80s and loved to cook for her family and others. Mrs. Martha was a long-term employee of Extendicare Rehabilitation Center as an Environmental Service Tech for over 20 years.
Mrs. Martha gave her life to Christ at a very early age. She attended Alabama Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama, and later joined New Mount Mariah Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama where she has been a member for over 25 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Walker, whom she loved dearly since 1986. She is also preceded by five siblings: Virginia Hardrick, Willie B. Shackleford, Gussie Reynolds, Geraldine Campbell, Buster Shackleford; five nieces/nephew: Kenneth Hardrick, Anthony Hardrick, Pearletha Hamiltion, Alexander Reynolds, and Candice Coleman.
She leaves three children to cherish her memories: Michael Shackleford (Sharon), Marketa Shackleford, and Veronica Shackleford; six grandchildren: Jaboa Shackleford, Jameel Shackleford (Christina), Tyqueze Shackleford, Jea’Nida Morgan (Tyjawon), Jaqueze Shackleford, and Jermichael Shackleford; fourteen great grandchildren: Ny’Liah Jackson, Ny’Oir Jackson, Ny’Avah Jackson, Ny’Acee Jackson, Ny’Uni Jackson, JaNyiah Shackleford, Jameel Shackleford Jr, Jaxon Shackleford, Jayden Shackleford, KyLeigh Shackleford, Jamikal Shakleford, Jayvion Shackleford, Kaiden Shackleford, Kamya Shackleford; one sister: Bobby Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
