Mary Eastha Freeman

Her Story

October 13, 1952- June 20, 2025

Mary Eastha Freeman, affectionately known to her family and friends as Hester, was born October 13, 1952 to the late Essie and Louis Daniels in Donalsonville, GA. She was the 4th of four children, who professed her passion for Christ at an early age.

On November 24, 1971, she married Raymond Freeman Jr. and started a family in Gordon, AL. There she continued her spiritual walk with Christ and became a member of St. John Baptist Church. Raymond and Mary raised five children together; two sons and three daughters.

She avidly believed that all work regardless of its nature should be done with a dedicated heart. Mary was more than just a stay at home wife/mother. She was an entrepreneur running her own convenience store and event center. She was a leader organizing events with the New Heritage Club Organization. She was the best gardener growing the most beautiful flowers and plants.

Mary loved nature and being outside observing God’s magnificent creations. She found joy in arranging plants and flowers into the most stunning masterpieces. On June 20, 2025, Mary became apart of a masterpiece. God picked our beautiful flower for his magnificent garden.

Mary is proceeded in death by her husband Raymond Freeman Jr., daughter Ollie Marie Freeman, and son Raymond Freeman III. Three sisters: Arzine Parks, Georgia Collier, and Nadine Quick.

She leaves to cherish her memories with three loving children; Ray (Hazel) Freeman, Brandie (Anton) Reid, and Marcy Lynn Freeman; Four brother-in-laws Willie Freeman, James (Marjorie) Freeman, Ernest (Betty) Freeman, Charles (Marilyn) Freeman; Sister-in-law Barbara Edwards. Twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
