Mr. Jimmy Ray Ward

Mr. Jimmy Ray Ward 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior August 7,2021. He was born March 2,1945 in rural Henry County ( Tumbleton, AL. community). He was the oldest child of the late Mr.Jimmie L. and Robbie M. Ward. Jimmy accepted Christ at the age of 12 under the leadership of Rev. M.L. Harris , Pastor of Patterson Street FWB Church. As  a youth, he served as assistant Sunday School Superintendent.  As an adult, he was a Sunday School teacher, Financial Secretary for over 18 years, the first Chairman of the Trustee Board, and a Deacon for 42 years (since 1979). Jimmy attended both North Highland and East Highland Elementary schools in Dothan. He graduated from Carver High School in 1962. He attended Knoxville College, and later received his Batchlor of Science (BS) degree from Troy State University. In 1966, he entered the United States Army. As a Communications Specialist, Sgt.E5 Ward served a tour in Viet-Nam in 1968. He was honnorably discharged in 1969, and met the love of his life Pearline Jackson, and married her June 6,1970. Jimmy spent twelve years in the Insurance busuness, as an agent, staff manager,and manager. In 1982, he was employed at Farley Nuclear Plant as a Security Officer, and retired in 2004.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie L. and Robbie M. Ward, and baby sister Josie Ward.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife and best friend of 51 years Pearline. One son Michael Ward and his wife Contessa (Tessa), two grandsons, Noah and Ethan. One daughter Cassandra (Sandy) and her husband Ervain Reynolds, and two grand-daughters, Camayah and Joy. One sister Robbie N. Lee and her husband James of Conway, SC. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
