A Time To Be Born: Ophellia Morris Mcleod was born Feb 19, 1948 to Georgia George & John Havery Martin in Chancellor, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age.
A Time To Love:
Ophellia joined St. Paul AME Church along
with her husband & children.
She was a faithful member, and she shared many recipes with
the kitchen committee.
A Time To Plant: Ophellia attended D.A. Smith High School. As far as her career, she worked as a certified nursing assistant in various nursing homes. Ophellia also worked for the Dale County Health Dept. until her health failed and she became disabled.
A Time To Laugh: A joyous occasion for Ophellia was sharing her wisdom with others; she would always encourage her family by saying “ you can give out, but don’t give up” or “Smile! And the world will smile with you!”
A Time To Embrace : She loved sharing a cup of coffee with her family and friends. Everyone was addicted to her smile and heartfelt conversations. Her hobbies were planting gardens, cooking, & fishing.
A Time To Pluck: She married the love of her life, J.L McLeod. Their love flourished for 54 long years.
A Time To Die: God saw that the roads were getting rough & the hills hard to climb, so He gently closed Ophellia’s eyes and whispered “Peace be thine”’ on Tuesday, July 21st, 2021.
A Time To Weep: The family members proceeding Ophellia in death was her husband, J.L. McLeod: her mother, Georgia George; her father: John Harvey Martin; Brothers: Willie Aaron Martin , Johnny Calvin Martin, Morris Anthony George Sr., Darcia George; Great Grandson, Omari Alexander.
A Time To Mourn:
Ophellia is survived by her children: Michael (Dannye) Morris of Midway, GA; Jerrold McLeod of Ozark, AL; Shanika (Jimmy) Reeves of Ozark, AL; Angela (Bernard) Maultsby of Ozark, AL; Jerry (Alberta) McLeod of Daleville, AL; Legail McLeod of Dothan, AL; Dominic (Sonya) Overton of Columbus, GA. Betty Martin of Ozark, AL; Shay George of Atlanta, GA; Jennifer George of Troy, AL; Beverly George of Ozark, AL; Belinda Trailer of Abbeville, AL; Tamika (Ken) McCormick of Lincoln, NE. Christopher (Tasha) George of Dothan, AL. A special Godson- Danny Anthony Smiley; 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, & a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
