Ms. Margaret G Thomas

Margaret Thomas, age 81, died Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Crowne
Healthcare, Montgomery, Alabama.
She was born October 16, 1939 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Rev.
Randolph Grubbs and, his wife, Nora Ross Grubbs. She graduated from
George Washington Carver High School in Dothan. She was united in
marriage to James Thomas in Dothan, Alabama.
In addition to her work as a mother and wife, Margaret worked outside of
the home throughout her adult life, including working many years
supporting seniors requiring home health care as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
Additionally, she worked for Wal-Mart for several years.
Margaret was a member of Parks Chapel AME Church in Dothan, Alabama
and a frequently contributed her time and resources to helping others.She
was a stranger to no one and gained new friends throughout her life. One of
her life’s passions was Bingo and friends she made through playing the
game. Margaret was known and loved for her warm personality and joy for
life.
Margaret is survived by her son, Randy Grubbs; her nieces, Jawana Ready of
Atlanta, GA and Anissa Reece of Montgomery, AL; and her nephew, Terence
and his wife, Tanya Reece of Montgomery. She is further survived by nieces,
nephews, other relatives, and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Ready and Sherry Reece.
Graveside services for Margaret Thomas will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday,
December 9, at North Highland Cemetery, 1100 Montana St, Dothan, AL.
Elder (ret.) David Reddick will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at
the Unity Funeral Home, 1215 Leona St., on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. for
viewing of the body
