Pearlean McGriff

Today we celebrate the homegoing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, Mrs. Pearlean McGriff, affectionately known as “Big Baby”. She was born to the late Willie Eunice Morrison and Alline “Nook” Morrison in Gordon Alabama on October 22, 1946.

Pearlean received her education in Gordon, AL. She was wedded in Holy matrimony to Mr. Eddie McGriff for over 64 years. To their union, they had two sons and resided their family in Lakeland, FL for over 50 years where she enjoyed being a homemaker for her family. Being a grandmother became one of her greatest joys.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Willie Earl Morrison and Charlie Morrison; two sisters, Dorothy Overstreet and Bernice Handsford.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband: Eddie McGriff; two sons: Eddie McGriff, Jr. and Tony McGriff; grandsons Keenan and Tate McGriff all of Lakeland, FL. her six sisters: Jewel Parrish, Newark, NJ; Mary Girtman, Dothan, AL; Doretha Platt, Dothan, AL and Demetha (R.L.) Patterson, Dothan, AL; three sister-in-laws: Nellie Sanders, Barbara Newton and Dolores McGriff; two brother-in-laws: Mose McGriff and Ilke McGriff, all of Gordon, AL. A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who all loved her so dearly.
