Richard lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and a deep love for his family.
Richard was a proud graduate of Luther J. Price High School, Class of 1973. After his education, he honorably served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. Following military service, Richard embarked on a distinguished career with the City of Atlanta, from which he later retired.
Richard loved fishing, exploring nature, music, and had a keen interest in vintage cars and aircraft. The thrilling excitement of monster truck shows. Beyond his hobbies Richard was a cherished family man whose love was paramount. In addition, he was a passionate historian always eager to dive into the past.
Richard is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dahlia Banks; his father, Marion Banks; brother, Malcome (Jackie) Castleberry; and grandson, Reginald Bernard Banks Jr.
His is survived by his loving children, Reginald Bernard (Andrea) Banks, Quintessa Goss, Janarris Cook (Breneda) Banks; goddaughter, Stylz Jesquith; grandchildren, Lasonja Banks, Charlene Banks, Chasity Banks, McKalae Cook Banks, Aiden Cook Banks, London Goss, Quilla Banks (Takedre) Dukes), Quinton Williams, Tallon (Diamond) Williams, April Williams, Ashley Gilbert, Jamel Jesquith, Ny’Asia Jesquith; a devoted sister, Theresa Lynne Banks; brother, James (Beverley) Banks and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Richard leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
