On Monday, August 16, 1965, God birthed into the earth someone who would matriculate into being a son, a brother, a uncle, a friend, a musician, a mentor, a godfather, a PaPaScott, a trustee, and a husband. God knew that this creation would make an imprint that would be forever embedded and that would change lives of many forever. While his love for music and being a musician was a treasured gif, all that knew him, knew that his true passion was his fashion and his ability to sell. From clothing to being known as "Scott the Car Guy". His power of persuasion to sell ANYTHING outshined any other gift he possessed. His electrifying smile brought joy to the world while his humility in spirit is what drew many to him.During his early years, he played percussion in the band as well as played little league softball. As the years progressed, his musical abilities ventured off into his love for the bass guitar. With his passions of music, he became the church drummer as well as a bass guitarist.
Growing up in Dothan, AL was his starting point where he completed his educational journey, however, soon he broadened his horizons to Columbus, GA, Montgomery, AL, Wetumpka, AL, and finally Alabaster, AL where he resided with his wife of 20 years. Those who walked alongside of him in any capacity knew him to be a storyteller. He had a story for any occasion and about everything under the sun. His stories soon became revered as his life's lessons that he wanted all to hear and experience as if you were there and an actual part of his stories as well.
Being reared in church during his younger years, helped to mold and shape him into the man he ultimately became. As he matriculated in life, church became an integral part of his life and his survival. It was a great day in 2020 that he experienced God on a greater level; as God endowed him with the gift of the Holy Ghost, speaking in unknown tongues. That day became one of his greatest days as that encounter with God meant more than he could have ever imagined. At the time of his transition into the arms of God, he was an active member of The Harvest Place Christian Church under the auspices of Bishop Wales Williams, Jr. There his musical skills became second to his elevation as Trustee and Armor Bearer. However, from time to time, he still made his way back to the drums or the bass guitar. The bond that he shared with his Pastor was one that could not be broken and one that he cherished as priceless. He loved his church, his church family, and definitely his Pastor:
After a five year battle with cancer, God saw fit to end the struggle and bring his son home at 10:20pm Friday, June 13, 2025. Though we were not ready for him to go, God said, "now is the time because I have made him ready". Therefore, we trust the will of God for He makes no mistakes.
His legacy is rich as he leaves in God's hands on the earthly realm his wife, Dr. Roshal LaShon Anglin; his mother Maelean (John - preceded in death) Anglin, his mother-in-love Dr. Ann (Bishop Willie) Gordon, three brothers, John Ed - California, Rex (April, - Huntsville, AL, Randy - Dothan, AL; one brother-in-love, Kerry Demings - New Jersey; three sisters Denise - Dothan, AL, Daffany - Helena, AL, Jucenda (Macheal) Holt - Mobile, AL; three sons Brandin Brantley - Montgomery, AL, Julius (Maritza) Anglin- Las Vegas, NV, Justin Trawick - Atlanta, GA; three daughters Antreneciya Brantley - Montgomery, AL, Noriska (Chris) Kyles - Columbus, GA, Alexis Thomas - Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren, Qylan Brantley, Cameron Kyles, Londyn Brantley, Ashanti Kyles, Roman Morgan, Kendrick Anglin, and Baileigh Kyles; three goddaughters, D'Juana Dickens, Andrea Anderson, and Katie Buie; three god sisters, Deleta (Bishop Keith) Moore, LaKesha (Rico) Farris, and Andretta Carter; Nieces, Amaya Barlow, Madison Anglin, MakayIn Holt, and Alyshia Foster; nephews, Donovan Franklin, Jordan Anglin, Myles Anglin, Andrew Barlow, and Machael Holt; a very special cousin whom he called his brother, Royce McKinney, a host of uncles, aunts, a dear friend-Mark Jones, and others whom he cherished,
Scott has left a precious legacy in those whom he was extremely proud of and that he believed would shine brightly in the world. Though he is absent from this fleshly body, his spirit is resting safe in God's arms.
