Robert  Earl Smith was born December 1, 1962 in Slocomb, Alabama to Gladys Louise Smith-Boykin. Robert was the fifth of seven children. Robert graduated from Slocomb High School in 1981 and settled in Slocomb with his family.

He was a member of County Line Missionary Baptist Church where he attended until his passing. Robert was a hardworking family man who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was known for loving some Alabama football and enjoying the sounds of Frankie Beverly and Maze.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother Gladys Boykin-Smith, his oldest sister, Blonzell Craig; and his loving wife, Bobby Jean Huff-Smith.

Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories six children: Andrea (Cornelius L.) Douglas of Dothan, AL, Tynarial L. Jones of Dothan, AL, De’Varis E. Jones of Slocomb, AL, A’Tavius (Cornelius J.) Clark of Campbellton, FL, Robert S. Smith and Torniah J. Smith both of  Slocomb, AL. Also two step-children: Ehren (Kendra) Fashion and Damaris Faison both of North Carolina; four sisters: Cynthia Harrell of Slocomb, AL, Sandra Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Brenda Dawsey of Slocomb, AL, Deborah Callins of Dothan, AL; one brother, Johnny Roy (Maxine) Smith of Atlanta, GA; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; a mother-in-law, Fannie Huff of Slocomb, AL; one aunt, Nolie Pujoue; two uncles: Willie T. (Patricia) Smith and Malcom (Majorie) Smith; eleven grandchildren: Tatyana, Corey, Janna, Caden, Kinson, Kaziah, Kizer, Promise, Ascelynn, Naliyde, and Keilen; a special brother, Jerry “Bug” Tolbert; a special person whom he called “Mama” Mamie A. Pouncey-Hill and the loving mother of his five ex-wife, Paula Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
