Donnie Mae Gosha Powell was born on July 13, 1925 in Gordon, AL to the late John Lewis Gosha Sr. and Hettie Carthon Gosha.
She was joined in holy matrimony to John Thomas Powell Sr.
She was the second of seven children. She was raised in Gordon, AL and accepted Christ at an early age. Donnie later moved to Miami, FL and returned to Dothan and made that her home. She was truly blessed and a blessing during her 95 years on this side of Glory. She had a genuine love for people. We all knew her by
Momma, Grandma, Madea, Sister, Aunt Sister, Cuttn Donnie or Cuttn Lil Donnie. She loved the outdoors which included her flowers and vegetables. Her passion was fighting and had memories with a lot of us on the fish banks. If you ever got to sit and eat with her you’d think her food was touched by the angels and many can acknowledge that she seasoned and served with love.
