Mrs. Mary Ardis

Mary Craig Ardis was the child of Will Craig, Sr. and Willie Jewel Craig. She was born in Pike County, Alabama where she attended Geneva County Training School.  She married and moved to Ocala, Florida where she lived and worked for 30 years, raising her 3 children. She returned to Slocomb, AL where she met her husband, Marvin Ardis Jr., and they were wed June 23, 2012.  She was a God-fearing woman, full of love and grace, always of service to her community. She instilled in her children a strong work ethic and confidence.  She lived her life boldly with poise and grace.  She was a professional shopper, secret super model, and fashionista one unlike the eyes of Lower Alabama had ever seen.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, dancing, and serving others with her time.

She was preceeded in death by her brothers, Frank Craig, Charles Craig, Cardell Craig, and her sister Martha Ann McRainey.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving  husband Marvin, and sister in law, her children Gary Lee, Lafreda Jean (Terrance), and Marilyn Yvonne (Scottie). She also leaves behind three sisters, two brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
