Ms. Catherine Turner

If “living life to the fullest” was a person, Catherine Turner would be her name. Catherine Turner was a vibrant queen who believed in having fun. She was an innovator who dressed to impress and  knew how to turn any situation into a celebration. There will never be another Cat!

Catherine Willis Turner, the daughter of Mr. M.C. Willis and the late Mrs. Mary Lee Grant Kirkland, was born August 7, 1951. She joined Hines Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age. She actively served under Rev. L.C. Green and Rev. Johnny C. Saffold and remained a member until her death. She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior.

She attended primary and intermediate schools in Dothan and graduated from Dothan High School in 1970. She briefly worked at Plantation Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, then transferred to Imperial Point Hospital, where she later retired. She loved children and believed in giving her time, talents, and treasures to others. She was a seafood-loving, life-of-the party, no sugar-coating comedian who will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories her father: M.C. (Charlene) Willis, Dothan, AL; one daughter: Tasha (James) Williams, Headland, AL; two grandchildren: Tylen and Sariah Williams, Headland, AL; siblings: Reginald (Kimberly) Hinson, West Palm Beach, FL, Michael Willis, Dothan, AL, Michelle (Kelvin) Anderson, Gordan, AL, Cassandra Haspiel, Dothan, AL; one aunt: Ann Williams, Belle Glade, FL; two Godsisters: Turesea Johnson, Dothan, AL, and Tomorrow Bush, Dothan, AL; two Godchildren: Rosetta (Jeffrey) Brown, Dothan, AL, and Apple Jackson, Webb, AL; Spiritual Mother: Mother Mary Jackson, Eufaula, AL; a special life-long friend: Willie C. Turner, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; extraordinary caregivers and service providers: Crowne Health Care of Eufaula nurses and staff and Clayton Rescue; Mary Ruth Jackson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
