Obituary

Mrs. Sarah Nell Jones Perkins was born on October 30, 1945, to the late Jimmy Lee and Rosie B. Slater Jones.

She attended Spann Junior High School and graduated from Geneva County Training School in 1966.  She was baptized at Sardis Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Faith Deliverance Church where she worshipped for many years until her health failed. She was a prayer warrior, loved the lord dearly, and was able to bring others to the Lord.

Sister Sarah Nell Perkins was known as “Honey” to her friends and neighbors. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was a person with a big heart. She became a caregiver and was on a mission to take care of her brothers for as long as she could.  She was very special to anyone who was around her or knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband the late Willie James Perkins, a daughter Sharon Devon Perkins, two sisters: Lillie B. Stephens, Joyce Jones, her brothers: Jimmy Lee Jones Jr., Cecil Jones, William Jones, Chester Jones, and John Lee Jones.

Her memories will remain with her loving daughter: Carolyn Perkins (Charles Smith) of Dothan, Al., a very special grandson: Joshua Perkins of Dothan, AL., a goddaughter, Tiffany Patrick Clark of West Palm Beach , FL., a godson, Billy McNealy of Dothan, AL., her nieces and nephews she helped to raise; Bobby Jones of Jacksonville, FL., Jannie (Raymond) Daniels, Blondell McClendon (Tim) of Dothan, AL., Ruby Jones (Duke) Mobile, AL., Sarah Francis Jones of Hartford, CT., James Jones of Dothan, AL.,  Mark Stephens of Birmingham, AL., two brother in laws: Clarence and Jerome Perkins of Daleville, AL. and  a host of nieces, nephews , first cousins, other relatives, friends, and two outstanding neighbors: Linda Rodgers, and Bobby Johnson who will all miss her dearly.
